Becoming a Charter Member of SOHP

We invite you to become a Charter Member of the Society for Occupational Health Psychology!

The Society offers three categories of membership:

• Student Affiliate

Student Affiliate membership status is available to those engaged in academic study related to the purposes of the Society at a recognized institution.

• Professional member

Professional membership has no requirements, other than interest in OHP and willingness to pay dues.

• Full member

Full membership requires a postgraduate degree in a field related to OHP (e.g., Occupational Health Psychology, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene). Full members have voting rights.

We are structuring the Charter Membership in the following way. We are asking that Full and Professional members pay a MINIMUM membership fee of $80 for the first year and that Student Affiliates pay a membership fee of $50. Your Charter membership will cover your subscription cost to Journal of Occupational Health Psychology in 2006, your 2006 SOHP membership dues, and will help cover the SOHP start up fees. The funds generated from this initial membership drive are essential to the start up of the Society. All donations are 100% tax deductible (minus the cost for JOHP), as they will initially go into a fund set up at Portland State University specifically for the development of SOHP.

To apply for membership, complete the brief Charter membership application and mail it back with a check for your membership dues to Leslie Hammer at the address below. Please make the check out to the "PSU Foundation" and indicate SOHP in the memo section of the check.

We also encourage all SOHP members to subscribe to the OHP Discussion List . This is an unmoderated listserv, hosted by the American Psychological Association, that is open to anyone who is interested in discussing occupational health psychology issues. Job postings and announcements of conferences and meetings are welcome. Messages of broad interest to the SOHP membership will be posted to this list.
