  • December 22, 2006: The 7th Work, Stress, and Health Conference, organized by the American Psychological Association, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and the Society for Occupational Health Psychology, will be held on March 6-8, 2008 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.  More details will be forthcoming while we proceed with finalizing the Call for Papers.  Please pass the word along to everybody you feel would have an interest in submitting an abstract or attending.

  • August 25, 2006: Thank you to all of our Founding and Charter Members who helped SOHP get off the ground during our start-up year! We have a new Membership fee structure in place for 2007. Beginning September 1, Membership applications will be processed for the 2007 membership year. Click here for more information and a Membership application form.
  • April 5, 2006: Awards for research in occupational health psychology were presented at the Sixth International Conference on Work, Stress and Health Conference in Miami, FL, March 2006.

  • February 28, 2006: Installation of new SOHP officers. March 1, 2006. SOHP will hold a Business Meeting and Reception for current and interested SOHP members on March 1, 2006 during the Work, Stress & Health Conference in Miami. Business meeting 5:30-6:30 pm in Orchid Room C of the Hyatt Regency Miami Hotel, with reception to follow, 6:30-8:30 pm. If you will be at the conference, please join us! Also, look for other SOHP and OHP activities at the conference, including a membership table, preconference workshop on developing an OHP graduate training program, poster display of existing graduate programs in OHP, a luncheon session focused on the historical developments in OHP, and an award for the top student paper in OHP at the conference, to be presented at the closing plenary session.

  • February 15, 2006. Inaugural Election of Officers! The Elections committee has prepared a slate of committed members who have agreed to run for office in our inaugural election. To those who submitted nominations, thank you for your nominations, and for our nominees, thank you for your willingness to serve. Voting members (all current Full Members of SOHP) will receive an e-mail in the next few days with directions for casting a vote -- please watch for it in your In-Box.

  • February 15, 2006: OHP Research from a Graduate Student Perspective. This report summarizes the results of a survey regarding current and future directions for the field of OHP from the perspective of graduate students who are currently pursuing study in OHP.

2005

  • December 27, 2005: NIOSH is conducting a series of town hall meetings to assist in the development of the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA). Consider participating in one of the town hall meetings as a way of getting OHP issues on the radar screen for future occupational safety and health research.   • December 27, 2005: Welcome to our new Charter members! If you haven't already done so, we encourage you to subscribe to OHPLIST, the OHP discussion list hosted by the American Psychological Association. OHPLIST is available for discussion of occupational health psychology issues, job announcements, SOHP bulletins, and more....
