- April 22, 2008:
CALL FOR PAPERS – EXTENSION.
2008 conference of the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology
Valencia, Spain, 12-14 November.
In response to requests from some delegates for the opportunity to present to
the conference in Spanish, the Organising Committee is delighted to announce
that a Spanish-language activity stream will take place on Friday 14th November.
To reflect this innovation, the deadline for submission of both English-language
abstracts for the main conference and Spanish-language abstracts for the Spanish-language
activity stream has been extended to 31 May 2008 .
Abstract submission forms in both languages can be downloaded from www.ea-ohp.org/conferences.

- March 19, 2008: Thinking ahead to 2009?? The
8th Work, Stress & Health Conference, cosponsored by the American
Psychological Association, the Nationional Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health and the Society for Occupational Health Psychology
will be held at the Caribe Hilton, San Juan, Puerto Rico, November
4-7, 2009. The first announcement of the conference is now available: Work,
Stress, and Health 2009: Global Concerns and Approaches. Additional
information and the call for papers will be posted as they become
available.
- January 30, 2008: The 6th
NORA Symposium will be held in Denver, CO on July
29, 2008. The call for posters available on the symposium website;
deadline for poster submissions is March 7, 2008. See our Conferences page for other conferences where OHP research is likely to be presented
and discussed.
- January 29, 2008: Volume
2 of the SOHP Newsletter is now available.
See the newsletter for information about the upcoming Work, Stress
and Health conference, among other features.
- January 22, 2008: Current SOHP Members -- If you haven't renewed
your membership for 2008, be sure to renew
now! Good news: If you
plan to attend the Work, Stress & Health 2008 conference Washington
DC in March, you can renew your registration or join SOHP when you
register for the conference (special registration rate for current
and new members of SOHP).
- January 21, 2008: Proposed revision to SOHP Constitution
and By-laws. Our current
SOHP constitution and the proposed
revision can
be viewed on the About SOHP page of this
website. SOHP members, please be sure to vote on this proposal when
you receive your e-mail invitation!
- August 13, 2007: Deadline for proposals for posters,
papers, and symposia to be presented at the 2008 Work, Stress,
and Health Conference is August
31, 2008. The Call for Papers and directions for

- May 1, 2007: SOHP people in the news...
Steven Sauter is the recipient of the 2007 James P. Keogh Award for
Outstanding Service in
Occupational Safety and Health. The Keogh Award recognizes
one current or former NIOSH employee each year for exceptional
service to the field. Dr. Sauter is being presented with this
award in recognition of his
outstanding career of scholarship and leadership in preventing
occupational injury and illness among workers. He has had
a remarkable and unique impact on the field of occupational safety
and health through
his dedicated efforts to integrate the behavioral sciences
into the
mainstream of research and practice aimed at reducing injury
and promoting worker well-being.
